Kavat size chart (kids)
Foot + 15 to 20 mm = the winter size
Kavat publishes the insole length of every shoe, and the sizes track the EU scale closely: size 27 measures 17.6 cm inside. For winter shoes Kavat's own advice is an insole 1.5 to 2 cm longer than the foot, room for wool socks included. When less than 5 mm remains in front of the toes, the shoes are done.
Their growth numbers are worth pinning up: feet grow about 20 mm a year at age one to two, 15 mm at two to three, and 10 mm a year from three to eleven. That is why the boots that fit in October pinch in March.

Two quick answers
Do Kavat shoes run big or small?
Neither: the insole lengths sit right on the EU scale. Measure the foot and add the margin instead of guessing by brand.
How much growing room in Kavat winter boots?
Kavat's own rule: an insole 1.5 to 2 cm longer than the measured foot. Replace when less than 5 mm remains.
